General election ballots have been mailed, and people are voting. The issues and candidates that Shift has been shining a light on for months (or years, as is the case with “green” governor Jay Inslee) are having their fate decided – every day until November 8.
So last week , we put a few of those candidates – like Supreme Court Justice Charles Wiggins, and, of course, the hardly-hard-working Inslee – under the Shift scope, along with some of the liberals’ favorite issues, like the massively expensive Sound Transit 3 and job-killing minimum wage initiative 1433.
But those out-of-touch candidates and their pet causes don’t go anywhere with their big-money donors, so Shift also put a spotlight on the rich liberal donors that are driving the Democrat train this fall, starting with $3 million-dollar-man Nicolas Hanauer, the Washington Conservation Donors, err Voters, and the union money-bags at SEIU 775.
And, no week would be complete without a few laughs courtesy of the Seattle City Council. So once again, the failed bike-share program Pronto was in the news, as was the massive 2-second improvement in traffic times along the Mercer Mess, thanks to Seattle’s $74 million dollar investment in the corridor.
Finally, in case you missed it, Shift was featured every day on KVI radio last week, providing commentary on the state’s six initiatives, along with morning host John Carlson. You can catch us again on KVI 570 at 6:35 am this Thursday.
Tune in, to get tuned in.
