Last week, Democrats provided another example of what is means to be a self-serving politician in the form of Bellevue City Council member Claudia Balducci. The Democrat is challenging incumbent King County Council member Jane Hague this year.
Balducci has held a lot government jobs during the course of her career, including being the Director of King County Adult and Juvenile Detention. During her time as jail director, Balducci served as a member of Sound Transit Board of Directors, the Sound Transit Capital Committee, and the Puget Sound Regional Council’s (PSRC) Transportation Policy Board.
Crosschecking records of her official pay history as jail director and official Sound Transit and PSRC meeting minutes reveal that Balducci cheated taxpayers. The Democrat charged taxpayers for a full day of work as jail director even on the days when she spent part of her day in Sound Transit and/or PSRC meetings. She did this at least 49 times.
