Friends –
The State Legislature finally passed a supplemental budget last week. This year, the legislative session went overtime by 20 days. Last year, the Legislature went into three special sessions, dragging until July. The years before were not much better – special sessions have been the way the Democrats have run Olympia for decades.
All the recent overtime sessions have had one theme in common: the Democrat-controlled State House makes absurd tax-and-spend demands and Jay Inslee makes it all worse with his ineffective, incompetent leadership. Democrats appear to believe that if they make a series of pie-in-the-sky demands they’ll be more likely to sneak through some of their special-interest priorities.
However, thanks to the Republican-controlled State Senate, that strategy hasn’t been working out for them since Inslee moved in. Thankfully, Republicans (once again) won again this legislative session and Democrats largely lost.
Time and time again, Republicans stood their ground, stopping the liberals tax-and-spend agenda, and protected working families against Democrats’ bigger government philosophy.
We are dedicated to continue shining a light on the difference between the Republicans’ responsible budget policies and the Democrats’ far-Left agenda. Be sure to check our website regularly to keep updated.
