Team –
Last week, state lawmakers failed to agree on a supplemental budget. So, the 2016 legislative session will go into overtime. That forced Jay Inslee to make a hard decision on whether or not to follow through on his threat to veto all bills on his desk if lawmakers failed to wrap-up session on time.
Inslee’s strategy in dealing with his ultimatum (a clear political blunder) has been to act in a confused manner, vetoing some bills while signing others. Ultimately, our green governor’s actions makes lawmakers’ jobs more difficult as they scramble to either override the vetoes or re-pass the bills.
This legislative session is just another example of Inslee’s failing at governing. It’s more of the same weak, ineffective leadership that has defined his administration.
Clearly, it’s time for a change.
