Last week, Jay Inslee’s extreme “green” agenda took another hit. The state Department of Ecology, under public pressure, withdrew Inslee’s mis-named “Clean Air Rule” (an energy tax on all Washingtonians) that he wanted to jam through by regulations, because our elected legislators won’t support it.
According to a news release, Inslee’s own bureaucrats confirmed they were withdrawing the proposal “after receiving feedback and criticism on the proposed rule from affected industries and other stakeholders.”
Ecology’s admission reveals the unpopularity of Inslee’s extreme “green” agenda with the public. Inslee’s irresponsible obsession would have cost jobs without accomplishing anything.
For Jay, it’s all about establishing his “legacy” as our nation’s greenest governor. This time around, the public saw right through it – and so did the bureaucrats.
