State Democrats and state government bureaucrats managed to show their true colors during the course of last week. Evidently they just can’t help themselves when the legislature is in session.
State House Democrats, led by state Representative Judy Clibborn, buckled under constituent pressure and pretended that they cared by making a few superficial changes to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s failed I-405 tolling scheme. This was after Clibborn demonstrated what she really thought of voters by refusing to even allow a hearing on a popular, bi-partisan bill that would fix the tolling scheme and allow the people’s representatives the opportunity to actually represent them.
As for the bureaucrats Democrats love to protect, officials over at the Washington Health Benefit Exchange boasted that they surpassed their enrollment goal by 35,000 people. Of course, they hide the inconvenient fact that they set a 2016 “goal” with the expectation that the exchange would actually lose customers in year 3 of the federally subsidized ObamaCare program.
