Last Week Today – 02-21-16

Team –

This week, Jay Inslee walked back his hyper-partisan attacks on State Senate Republicans for firing his unqualified appointee, Washington State Department of Transportation Director Lynn Peterson.

Why did Jay almost actually admit an error? Well, he realized that he does not have the support of public opinion, especially when it comes to debacle that is the I-405 tolling scheme.

So, during a press conference in mid-week, Inslee proposed changes to the tolling scheme in an effort to appease (or confuse) the key voters he needs to get re-elected in 2016. Unfortunately, those changes still do not go far enough to relieve the congestion made worse by the liberals’ terrible plan.

If Inslee were truly concerned with reducing congestion (as opposed to forcing motorists out of their cars and on to public transportation), he would encourage Democrats in the state Legislature to support an I-405 fix proposed by both Republican and Democrat lawmakers. It’s time for our green governor to put aside his partisan interests and do what is best for Washingtonians.

We work every day to shine a light on Inslee’s extreme partisan agenda – because other media outlets often look the other way. But, we cannot do it without your support.

Thank you,

The Shift Team
