Another week is wrapping up – and as we highlighted today, that probably means (based on last week) that Jay Inslee has completed at least 8 hours of official work this week (we’ll let you know next Friday if that prediction proves accurate). Our “green” governor truly is the anti-James Brown – certainly not the hardest workin’ man in show business. Also not working is Pronto, Seattle’s failed bike-share experiment. A couple of council members want to finish it off, but a majority may still be drinking the all-bikes-all-the-time koolaid.
What is working for Democrats is the big-money faucet operated by SEIU 775. The union behind the $15 minimum wage and other job-killing efforts is our pick today for the “big-spending liberals” spotlight. Hundreds of thousands in contributions to Democrats since Labor Day, and well over a million for the year on the union bosses’ pet causes – all thanks to dues taken from members’ pockets without their consent.
Also in the spotlight – one he’d probably wish wasn’t shining quite so bright – is State Supreme Court Justice Charlie Wiggins. The soft-on-crime justice had a name from one of his past decisions show up again on the police blotter, just in time for voters to decide if they really want Wiggins’ approach of let-them-off-on-a-technicality “justice” to continue on the court.
