The Daily Shift – October 10, 2016

Like the rest of the country, folks here at Shift are still recovering from the must-see TV that was the second presidential debate last night. It’s amazing what people will find to fill the time when the Seahawks take a week off from playing.

In honor of the debate, we feature today yet another embarrassing email leak coming from Team Clinton. This one compares the base of the Democrat Party to the Soviet Red Army. Of course, if the army boot fits…

Also fitting together quite snugly are Jay Inslee and the leaders of the state employee unions, especially now that contract “negotiations”, resulting in a half-billion-dollar bill being presented to the next legislature, have concluded for this year. As a final favor, Jay made sure to include the secrecy clause for the next round of negotiations, to make sure the public doesn’t have to be bothered with such mundane details as how a governor wants to spend their money on mega campaign donors.

Appealing to campaign donors was also a theme at a recent joint appearance for the two candidates running to succeed Jim McDermott in Congress – a career opportunity that evidently does not require homework on topics like renewable energy, or our state’s dependence on hydro-electric power. The politics of energy is also the topic of yet another far-Left attack on the kinda-Left Initiative 732, with the head of the state’s labor council reminding readers that you can never let an opportunity to raise taxes go by without trying to raise taxes as high as possible.
