The Daily Shift – November 28, 2016

Shift is back from our Thanksgiving break, though we are still working through the leftovers. We hope your holiday weekend was filled with family and friends.

We return to report a bit of disruption – from the state Democrats’ intra-mural fighting gaining more attention, to the State Labor Council asking people to ignore charitable giving in favor of “Disruption Tuesday” strikes. Some liberals evidently didn’t use the Thanksgiving holiday to reflect on gratitude.

Also disrupting voters’ intentions is a Seattle Times editorial we highlight calling on the legislature to ignore the solid “NO” vote on Initiative 1464. However, Shift suspects that the legislature has better things to do than adopt bad ideas already rejected by the voters who elect these members.

Finally, we avoid disruption by providing some continuity in pointing out that Jay Inslee keeps avoiding government work even though he has been re-elected. Maybe he has figured out that no one much notices when he isn’t actually governing.

And, Shift would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the passage of the Western Hemisphere’s worst dictator, Fidel Castro. And, because we believe in the old saying that “revenge is a dish best served cold”, may be suggest on your next visit to Miami that you drop by one of our favorites, Azucar Ice Cream for a scoop of Burn in Hell, Fidel.
