The lumps of coal from Jay Inslee just keep on a-comin’, and today we feature our “green” governor’s desire for a capital gains income tax. Just the thought of creating the state’s first income tax gets Inslee (and his big campaign donors) all excited, though he certainly didn’t want to admit that when running for re-election.
After all, if he told the truth, people might have made a better choice.
Shift also highlights another Inslee action that he didn’t want to discuss during while campaigning in 2012, his unwillingness to follow Washington State law and enforce the death penalty. The Whatcom County prosecutor showed Inslee the gruesome evidence behind a horrific crime that has placed one inmate within a month of being put to death if Inslee signs the paperwork, so now Jay has to finally decide with whom he stands.
We can only hope that Inslee makes a better choice now.
