The Daily Shift – December 26, 2017

The last week of the year between Christmas and January 1 is often one of reflection – and short staffs due to vacation time – at most mainstream media outlets. You tend to see a lot of pre-packaged stories that seem like analysis, but are actually just a regurgitation of what’s been written earlier in the year.

It appears that’s the case at the Seattle Times, which as Shift points our today got it wrong in its Christmas story about Jay Inslee’s big tax-increase budget. The Times calls it “bold”, but we point out it’s actually just business as usual for a liberal paying back his campaign donors with taxpayer money.

Stay tuned this week, as we take a look at the other lumps of coal which Jay put in your Christmas stocking.
