This is an election that happens every 12 years in Washington State – where the top of the ticket is led by State Supreme Court races (yawn). No Presidential, U.S. Senate or Governor’s race for us. So all we can do its watch other states, where the Democrats are in serious danger of losing the six seats necessary to put Republicans in charge of that chamber for the last two years of President Obama’s term.
According to one of the nation’s most respected prognosticators, the University of Virginia’s Larry Sabato, only 16 of the 36 Senate seats up for election this fall are competitive – and 14 of those 16 seats are currently held by Democrats. He rates the Top 10 seats most likely to switch parties, and all 10 are Democrat ones – including the top seven which were all carried by Mitt Romney in 2012.
Should be fun to watch.
