Showing that they have nothing better to worry about, like maybe figuring out how to reverse decades of underfunding public education, Democrats on the State Capitol Committee showed true bravery by taking a stand against … gas-powered leaf blowers.
No mention is made of how much money will be wasted to provide Lands Commissioner Peter Goldmark the “tranquility” he desires while walking around the Capitol. But, since he can’t silence the noisy legislators and labor rallies which frequent the capitol, he is taking a stand against leaf blowers purchased with taxpayer money.
Left unsaid is whether Goldmark will require state employees to return to the 20th century and use rakes to gather leaves.
