Similar to Obamacare, a $15 minimum wage sounds great to the average person… until said person begins to understand the full force of its meaning and implications. That is—at least—what appears to be happening in Seattle.
A new poll conducted on behalf of OneSeattle, “a group backed by both major business groups and small business owners,” shows a large drop in the support for a $15 minimum wage in a short amount of time. According to the poll,
“Forty-seven percent said they would support such a wage with 48 percent opposed. A similar poll by the same firm in January showed a 68-25 percent margin in support.”
The poll results have not phased Socialist Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant, she continues to insist Seattleites want a $15 minimum wage.
