In a poll conducted by the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, more than half of Seattle businesses said they would cut new positions and cut or end benefits if a $15 minimum wage is approved. The Puget Sound Business Journal reports,
“Sixty percent of companies that participated will consider multiple changes such as reducing or eliminating new jobs, raising standards for hiring entry-level workers and reducing or eliminating benefits, the chamber said. Half of those responding said they would raise prices to offset the change.”
