The union-led extremists behind the move to raise the minimum wage by over 60% in Seattle revealed just how unrealistic their worldview is by issuing a letter over the weekend to the City Council in which they both congratulate the members on the initial passage of the $15 minimum wage increase and demand that they not make any changes to the law that would help small businesses deal with this job-killer.
According to Publicola, the leaders of the movement assume that entry-level workers never advance in their jobs and suggest that a three-month delay in implementing a $15 minimum wage “will be an additional hardship to the 100,000 workers who have struggled for too long to survive on poverty wages.”
How many of those 100,000 are just starting their career at something less than $15 an hour, only work part-time, or don’t live in poverty because their job is not the sole means of support in their family is left undefined by the far-left leaders of this “movement.” Also left undefined are how many jobs will be lost, or simply moved out of Seattle, due to the lack of economic sense on the City Council.

How many others like me will have to move out of Seattle because having just retired, my income is not going to increase by 60% and I will not be able to afford to continue living here.
