Vulnerable Democrats like Louisiana’s Sen. Mary Landrieu and Montana’s Sen. John Walsh rush to distance themselves from not only Obamacare, but the President himself. Landrieu refuses to show-up at any event involving the disastrous health care law and has initiated a series of ads attacking Obama for his failed policies. Meanwhile, Walsh can’t seem to stop reminding the public that he never actually voted for Obamacare and that he is “disappointed” in the law.
And, of course, there is Republican David Jolly’s crushing defeat of Democrat Alex Sink in a special election for Florida’s 13th congressional district last month—a victory billed as a testament to voter frustration over Obamacare.
Yet, despite all the evidence, one Democrat member of Congress refuses to back down on the merits of Obamacare. He goes so far as to actually say that, because of Obamacare’s success, Democrats will hold on to the Senate and win the House in the 2014 mid-terms. Ladies and gentlemen… Seattle’s Rep. Jim McDermott,
“Washington Rep. Jim McDermott tells The Hill that flipping the 17 seats needed for Democrats to control the House is “not inconceivable … it’s a tough hill, but I would say it’s not impossible.”
