America’s Secretary of State was in Canada yesterday joking with Canadian leaders about the Obama administration’s approach to the Keystone Pipeline project proposed by TransCanada over six years ago:
“I certainly want to do it sooner rather than later but I can’t tell you the precise date,” Kerry told a joint news conference with Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird.
Kerry must have been joking, because no rational person who has watched the Obama Administration avoid approving a project that has long been favored by a majority a both Americans and Canadians would think he was serious. And as long as the Democrats are squeezing money out of Keystone’s biggest opponent – liberal billionaire Tom Steyer, who made a big chunk of his cash investing in competitors to the Keystone Pipeline– there will be no “sooner” decision made.
One has to wonder if the Canadians were laughing at Kerry during this press conference, as he deserved?
