Current Democrat governor of Minnesota Mark Dayton misspelled the name of his state on campaign literature. Dayton’s brochures read “HELP US CONTINUE TO BUILD A BETTER MINNESTA.” The National Review,
“Earlier today, Hennepin County commissioner and challenger Jeff Johnson, one of a handful of Republicans vying to unseat Dayton, posted on his campaign’s Facebook page the following exchange involving his son, Thor:
Yesterday, a young man knocked on our door. Thor answered. The young man said “Do you know who your household is voting for in the governor’s race?” Thor: “Jeff Johnson is my dad, so probably him.” Young man: “Dude, that’s so cool – I actually got Jeff Johnson’s house on my list. You should give this brochure to your dad, he’ll think it’s funny that they misspelled Minnesota on the top.
“Dayton was elected in 2010 and is considered the favorite to win a second term in the fall, but Johnson is one of the Republicans more likely to defeat him, according to recent polls.”
