As the tragic violence in Iraq intensifies, the prospect of a “civil war would have widespread repercussions on global oil prices and the world’s economy, experts say.” Americans should expect to see gas prices shoot up. The Oregonian,
“Dodds expects the Oregon and Washington averages to breach $4 a gallon for regular unleaded. But unless there’s a major disruption to supply in the Middle East, prices are not expected to climb much higher than that,” she said.
“Averaging $3.94 a gallon, Washington now has the nation’s fourth most expensive gas. Oregon has dropped from seventh to eighth on the list of states with the priciest gas.”
