Jay Inslee is scrambling to fix his administration’s poor public image following an Elway poll that revealed a mere 30% of voters are inclined to re-elect him in 2016. So, our green governor is responding by making quite a lot of delusional claims concerning his administration’s “victories.” And, he is organizing major fundraising efforts—one of which will take place today.
Inslee will hold his second big-ticket fundraiser of the year—the first one featured former Vice President Al “Jazeera” Gore—at the Seattle Convention Center. The fundraiser will have “Gold” and “Silver” contribution categories and include Democrat Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey as the keynote speaker. The event, as with the Gore headlined fundraiser, will be closed to all media and is not included on Inslee’s official schedule. The Seattle PI,
“The closed doors at Inslee’s event on Friday signal a certain nervousness. The tab begins at $125 for a “silver guest,” rising to $250 for a “gold guest” and $1,250 to be a “co-host.” “Gold” table captains are expected to sell tickets or donate to the sum of $2,500, while “silver” captains have a $1,250 target.
“‘Gold’ and ‘silver’ captains, along with ‘co-hosts’ will get to go to a picture-taking reception with Inslee and Booker.”
Inslee will have quite a lot to contend with in 2016—not even his major ally, organized labor, is too happy with him right now—which explains the “nervousness.” No matter how hard he tries, Inslee cannot escape reality: He is a failed governor and the public knows it.
