Washington Republicans in the state legislature suspected Jay Inslee of planning to issue a carbon tax via executive order months ago. The uncertainty caused by Inslee’s unknown plans managed to derail any hope for agreement on a transportation package during the 2014 legislative session.
Inslee proceeded to accuse Republicans of politically motivated fear-mongering. He downplayed the possibility of an executive order for a carbon tax.
Today, on Seattle Channel’s “Civic Cocktail” program, Inslee finally came clean and admitted that it he will “likely” implement a carbon tax without legislative approval.
Inslee is a Democrat and thus will lie whenever necessary. He lied about no tax hikes during his campaign. Democrat Socialists like Inslee lie because of moral relativism and situational ethics. They know best and so if they have to mislead in order to get/keep power, oh well, it is for the common good.
