The Seattle Times was very vocal during the campaign season it is editorial opposition to the silly carbon tax contained in Initiative 732. However, since the initiative went down in flames at the polls – being rejected by nearly 60% of the voters – advocates for resurrecting a carbon tax, and increasing the cost of energy for all Washingtonians, have been active in trying to gloss over the election defeat.
Today the Times provided valuable space on its editorial page for a couple of environmental extremists to tell Washingtonians that they got it wrong by rejecting the carbon tax. And, that we must make it right by having our legislature overrule the voters.
In an Orwellian twist, the enviros ignore the I-732 vote from earlier this month, and claim that their ideas have “the support of the business community and the clear support of voters”, so “the time is now for state legislators to lead on climate change.”
The writers claim that a poll done by the Nature Conservancy and unnamed “partners” showed that the “people of Washington know climate change is happening and want our leaders to act.”
Perhaps the Times, after providing the space for this propaganda push, will now publish the Nature Conservancy’s poll in its entirety. Surely Times’ readers deserve to see all the details in the poll, not just the ones cherry-picked by activists trying to push a political agenda.

You know an attempt to purchase an initiative really stinks when even King County liberals approve it by a margin of less than 27,000 votes. These same people were responsible for re-electing Greenie by 356,000 vote margin (erasing his 72,000 vote loss statewide) and squandering our electoral votes on the pathological liar by over a half million vote margin (virtually her entire margin statewide).

The voters rejected the phoney carbon tax. What part of “NO” don’t the corrupt liberals don’t understand? The people have spoken. Try to abide by that or go find another career because you suck at this one.
