California billionaire and extreme “green” hypocrite Tom Steyer is gearing up to drop another portion of his wealth into Democrat campaigns in 2016. Last year, Steyer became the biggest individual donor—from both sides of the aisle—in American politics. But, you won’t think that from listening to Steyer.
The extreme environmentalist often uses the word “we” in all his statements referring to campaign funding. Here’s an example via the Hill,
“Asked if he had a dollar figure in mind for how much he was prepared to spend in the presidential year, Steyer said, “I really don’t. … We’re going to see what we can do.”
It’s an underhanded attempt to portray his super PAC, NextGen Climate, as a popular organization that has the support of others. In reality, as records showed last year, Steyer is the only one funding his extreme “green” obsession.
Rumor has it that Steyer is mulling over a gubernatorial bid in California. If the billionaire decided to throw his hat in the ring, he’ll be fighting an uphill battle. Early polls show him in fourth place.
An interview with Steyer wouldn’t be complete without the extreme greenie making an absurd allegation, as the Hill discovered. Steyer told the online news outlet that the Koch brothers are planning on spending a billion dollars in 2016.
That, as is so often the case with information cited by Steyer, is not true. As the Hill points out, the Koch network plans to raise about $900 million for both political and philanthropic activities. Of that total, about $300 million will be spent on electoral politics.
