According to liberal 47th Legislative District Senator Mona Das, she experienced racism and sexism within the Senate Democrat’s caucus room.
“It was hard to go to work every day. The racism and the sexism and the misogyny that we experience is real. And it’s not okay anymore,” said Das.
The Kent Reporter broke the news on June 25, 2019 and Das attempted to backpedal, saying her quotes were taken out of context.
But they weren’t. Later, when interviewed by the Seattle Times Das admitted she lied saying, “they didn’t misquote me.”
Below we have for you below the clips of her comments where she accused her Democrat colleagues of hate, racism, sexism and misogyny.
At the time of this posting, no Democrats in Leadership have spoken out on the issue. Senate Democrat Leader Andy Billig hasn’t said anything and neither has Washington State Democrat Party Chairwoman Tina Podlodowski — which is surprising considering she has called on Republicans to denounce and investigate many things during her tenure. We would think she’d be ready to get rid of the rot in her own party. But perhaps not, would there be anything left if she did?
According to the Kent Reporter, the State Senate will be conducting their own inquiry into the matter, however, after the Secretary of the Senate asked the Senate HR to look into it. It’s a shame the “leaders” within the Democrat party are completely failing to actually lead.
We’re not sure what they will find, though, as Das has been refusing to name names. She did say it would be people we wouldn’t expect. So, we thought it would be fun to give our community a chance to vote on which Democrat senator we would not expect to be full of hate, misogyny, racism, or sexism.
