The Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) is a controversial organization that relies on seemingly corrupt close ties to the Washington State Labor Council (WSLC) and engages in equally unethical hyper-partisan political activity that includes workshops on how to campaign against right-to-work laws. Unsurprisingly, given the multi-million dollar investments that labor unions spent electing Jay Inslee and the state House Democrat majority, Inslee “sought to triple funding for LERC from $160,000 per year to $500,000” in the recent budget debate.
But, thanks to state Senate Republicans, that didn’t happen. Thought Republicans are still working to completely defund LERC, they managed to ensure LERC does not receive any additional tax dollars. More of taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars will not be sent toward an organization that supports the political activities of big labor.
The victory for taxpayers is yet another example of Republicans’ big budget wins.

Good job Republicans! We need to stop the slide into socialism.
