State House Democrats are celebrating Labor Day by pushing a series of info-graphics called “Ten Reasons You Should Thank a Union.” Oddly enough, reasons include the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act, which was, incidentally, one of the signature legislative accomplishments of George H.W. Bush. Perhaps Democrats would be better off thanking the Republican president rather than unions.
Well, Shift has decided to take a page out of state House Democrats’ book and offer five reasons to thank big labor—particularly, the Washington Education Association and its local affiliates across the state. Without further ado, here are five reasons to thank a teachers’ union.
