President George H. W. Bush’s inaugural address is probably most well-known for the line about “a thousand points of light” — people who do good. He created the “Daily Point of Light” award to, as his foundation formed to support volunteerism describes, “recognize extraordinary individuals making a difference.”

As we remember President Bush, we think it’s important to ask ourselves: Would I be worthy of a Daily Point of Light award? We should all strive to continue President Bush’s legacy of volunteerism.
