Democrat Rep. Reuven Carlyle, 36th District, announced his intentions to run for his district’s state senate seat. Carlyle will run against incumbent Democrat Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Wells. The Seattle PI,
“A Carlyle vs. Kohl-Welles battle would likely spill over into the November election under the state’s “Top Two” primary system. Once competitive, the 36th District — which includes Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard and portions of downtown Seattle — is now a Democratic bastion.”
