Isaías had been previously barred from the U.S. after she attempted to secure fraudulent visas for her maids, the paper reported, citing financial records and government officials.
The Isaías family, which has been under federal investigation, has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic campaigns and received additional beneficial treatment from the Obama administration, including its refusal to extradite two Isaías brothers, one of whom is the father of Estefanía Isaías, the Times reported. A Clinton spokesman denied any special treatment, while the White House refused to comment, saying visas are issued by other federal agencies and separate from any political interference, the paper said. Requests for comment from the Isaías family were also declined.
