This week is Sunshine Week, a national initiative to educate the public of the importance of open government and the dangers of excessive government secrecy. And, thanks to government transparency laws, King 5 was able to get its hands ondocuments that unfortunately revealed extreme pettiness on Jay Inslee’s part at the worst possible time – after the Oso landslide disaster a year ago.
King 5 placed a public records request seeking copies of email messages sent to or from the governor’s personal email address following Inslee’s admission that he “occasionally” uses it for state business. Reading through the emails obtained by King 5, Shift discovered that—at one point—it appears as though Inslee’s biggest concern following the Oso tragedy was that Lt. Governor Brad Owen receiving more media attention than him.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell interviewed Owen concerning the Oso disaster, and Inslee was not pleased. Linking to the TV segment, Inslee writes to his PR flaks—including Communications Director David Postman and spokesperson Jaime Smith—“I could have sworn I got elected governor.”
It’s an unbelievably petty response from a governor who has proven himself “green” in more ways than we can count.

I didn’t vote for this jackass. So, he’s petty. He’s a democrat. Nuff said.
MSNBC? WTF is that?
Is anybody surprised? Just like his dogeating mentor, his first thought is always “how can I use this tragedy for my gain?”
