It came down to a penalty shootout on Sunday, but Seattle walked away from this weekend with another major championship under their belts when the Sounders won their first MLS Cup championship. Congratulations are to the Seattle Sounders for their win!
However, while we have a reason to celebrate the hard-working athletes who make up our state’s professional soccer team – the same cannot be said about our state’s governor. In today’s Shift, we find ourselves yet again broaching the subject of Jay Inslee’s work ethic, or rather, lack-thereof (Jay, if you’re reading this, please get to work… we wouldn’t have to work so hard tracking your schedule if you had a stronger work ethic).
First, we follow Inslee’s favorite leadership trend: dedicating as much of his schedule to “personal time” that he possibly can, or rather, utilizing his public work hours for campaigning.
Then, we take a quick trip down memory lane to remember that the McCleary decision is one that Governor Inslee would rather just ignore in favor of funding his special interests.
Sadly, we can’t expect Inslee to prioritize the funding of kids in our state when he won’t be in office long enough for the people suffering from his decisions to cast a ballot in his favor. After all – if there are two things Democrats excel at in this state (and nation), it would be short-term solutions (with long-term consequences) and living above the law.
