The Daily Shift – December 06, 2016

It’s said that the only certain things in life are death and taxes. Here in the Puget Sound area we might add a third certainty – Sound Transit officials always want more. So, in today’s Shift, we look a few of the ways that Sound Transit is looking to make traffic congestion worse and your wallet lighter in the coming years.

Also taking your wallet for a ride are the Seattle officials who just re-opened the Wallingford Transfer Station, after spending two years and $108 million in your tax dollars on what we used to call a dump. But it has a basketball court and a green roof, so it’s all good, right?

And finally, we shine a light on Jay Inslee’s Department of Corrections, and the certainty promised by its interim secretary – that they will make more mistakes in letting prisoners – um, “individuals” – out early. He just didn’t say when.
