Shift is rarely surprised when liberals double down on a losing strategy, so today we highlight a couple efforts by Democrats to ignore the results of the recent election and try to push through policies that failed at the polls. We start by sharing the lesson learned that we should all get ready for the “Trump is scary” argument to be employed every time they want to grow government and raise taxes.
In Seattle, we highlight a new City Council candidate, who thinks the solution to the affordable housing problem in his city is to make it less profitable to build more housing. We also take a look at the propaganda being pushed by extreme environmentalists that voters got it wrong by rejecting a carbon tax, and now it’s up to legislators to jam energy tax increases down people’s throats.
Finally, we also debunk – with the help of the Washington Post – the Democrats’ argument that they really should control the agenda of the U.S Senate since their party’s candidates won more votes. Nothing like essentially adding California twice to help the Democrats get more votes.
