Shift hopes all our readers travel safely to their chosen Turkey Day destination, and that you’ll forgive us for taking a long weekend away from writing. In our last set of posts until Monday, we highlight the Democrats turning on their state party leadership for poor performance, in our ongoing “lessons from the election.”
We also take a look at Seattle’s ever-growing city budget, which will top out at $5.6 billion (with a B) next year and includes record spending on homelessness programs. And just to show that Seattle is not alone in its commitment to political correctness, we share the latest attempt by the ex-Missionaries running Whitman College to show just how whacky they can be, this time by considering a request to be a “sanctuary” campus. In true liberal fashion, the faculty and students pushing the idea don’t want to cooperate with federal law enforcement authorities, but they are happy to cash federal education checks.
