Seattle City Council woman Kshama Sawant is back in the news today, and topping our Daily Shift, with her attacks on the academic team charged with studying the city’s $15 minimum wage law. Apparently former community college prof Sawant wants to make sure that more far-Left advocacy – and not actual data – is the primary feature of the study, so it doesn’t slow down her national movement to damage the economy.
Also keeping active in the public debate is Sound Transit, with the Tacoma News Tribune reminding its readers that Pierce County is still waiting on some promises made in 2008, during the last vote on a multi-billion dollar light rail boondoggle, and that neglect might influence this year’s vote. And likewise trying to influence this year’s vote – but perhaps less so in our state – is California billionaire Tom Steyer. He went on TV to talk about his $20 million dollar investment to help Hillary Clinton win in November, which might just help him when he runs for California governor in 2018.
Just another reason to be thankful we don’t live there!
