The days are getting shorter, and even though summer weather has returned for a few days, the election is getting closer, so Shift gets to report on silly fundraising emails from Jay Inslee. The latest series concerned his need for $60,000 for the last 60 days of his campaign – on top of the more than $8 million he has already begged from donors since January, 2013. Perhaps he’ll place a call to a newly emerged moneybags on the Left, Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. After all, we report on his promise to spread $20 million around to his favorite liberal causes, and surely Jay can find a way to get his hand into that fat wallet.
Pretending that she’s protecting our public wallet, we also highlight Kshama Sawant’s latest trip to a police station, though this time the Seattle City Councilmember was not in handcuffs. Instead, as we point out, she wastes the time of some of Seattle’s finest as they give her a tour a police station that needs to be replaced, and she spends the time (with her posse of friends) wondering why they need space for training. And Shift is left wondering if Seattle voters will continue to provide her a platform for his wacky ideas.
