The Daily Shift – August 17, 2016

Using our best Jack Nicholson voice, “we’re back”!

After a week in the sun, the Shift team has returned, shining a light on liberal foibles and proving perspective on the latest political happenings around the state. Yesterday we pick up by focusing on everybody’s favorite clown show, the Seattle City Council. The left-and-lefter body that it is, the elected officials who govern the city are happy to try to tell business people how to run their business, even though they can’t seem to run a meeting.

We also cast an eye to the East, where Sound Transit is getting ready to rip up Bellevue’s crown jewel, the Mercer Slough Nature Park; and to the South, where outgoing SPI chief Randy Dorn is defending his decision to sue local school districts; and all around the state to look at who will be controlling the legislature next year.

Enjoy.
