Inslee dodges his failures by ‘crying Trump’

Jay Inslee continued his efforts to make the gubernatorial campaign about anything else except his high-profile failures as governor in his latest fundraising appeal. A recent email reads:

“… Bill Bryant will spend the week avoiding telling Washington voters the truth about where he stands when it comes to Donald Trump.”

As Shift has reported, Inslee’s attempt to make his re-election campaign about Trump reveals the pathetic position of his candidacy. The truth is that our green governor has nothing to actually run on, there is no record of success to woo voters.

To put it in the words of his campaign, Inslee has been trying to avoid the subject of his failures for over a year.

Under Inslee’s watch, the Department of Corrections released 3,700 prison inmates early, the Department of Social and Health Services has utterly failed to appropriately handle its responsibilities, and the state Department of Transportation continued its record of incompetency.

Perhaps, rather than worry about what Bill Bryant has to say about a presidential nominee, Inslee should worry about how he expects to defend his record as governor — without misleading the public or taking credit for others’ accomplishments.
