The Daily Shift – 12/21/15

Today Shift looked at Gov. Jay Inslee’s claim that Boeing committed “corporate extortion” when it received tax incentives – which Inslee himself negotiated and then called a special session of the Legislature to pass. Apparently he has mixed feelings about it now. It ranks #8 in our Top Ten most underreported stories of the year.

We also highlight U.S. Rep Suzan DelBene’s latest fundraising e-mail, which tries to raise money from the scary specter of the Tea Party but says nothing about our ballooning national debt. Shift also shines a light on the state labor council’s arguments about free trade, including its president’s accusation that we all talk about the issue in a “dumbed down” way.

Finally, be sure to check out our story on the Seattle City Council’s wish list for the Legislature. It’s about as unreasonable as you would expect.
