Washington voters have said “no” to a state income tax time and time again, but that hasn’t kept Democrats from demanding one be created. In fact, you can be certain that Democrats from Jay Inslee on down have not given up on their goal to impose what is defined as a “guiding principle” in their state party platform.
This week, a labor-funded Democrat activist hinted of plans to introduce a state income tax initiative in 2016. Washington voters would—once again—have to voice their opinion on the tax they’ve already rejected.
