Last week, the immediate aftermath of the State Supreme Court’s ruling against charter schools unfolded. As could be expected, despite thousands urging him to act, Jay Inslee refused to say anything on the subject of charter schools, let alone call a special legislative session to address the ruling.
Meanwhile, despite losing state funding, charter schools proved their worth by pledging to stay open and get by on charitable donations.
All of these events unfolded against the backdrop of illegal teachers’ union strikes, specifically in Seattle and Pasco. Those actions presented a stark contrast.
On the one hand, charter school supporters fought, and continue to fight, to keep schools open. On the other hand, teachers’ unions fought, and continue to fight, to keep schools closed (and to make sure that charter schools were not an option for students by filing the lawsuit that led to the Supreme Court ruling).
In the midst of it all Inslee stood by, and continues to stand by, refusing to lead.
Scenarios like these—those that clearly reveal the contrast of priorities—are important to showcase. These scenarios expose the true, selfish intent of the Left. That’s why you can count on us to continue shining the light on the liberals’ hypocrisy.
