Leave it to the Seattle City Council to be led by Socialist Kshama Sawant in discussing the economics of increasing taxes.
“The sales tax is not a stable revenue source” says pioneer commune member Nick Licata in advocating for raising other taxes.
According to Sawant, the University of Washington “could easily absorb the commercial parking tax” increase of 40% the council is contemplating. Evidently, Sawant is basing her projections on the understanding of economics she taught at community college.
What’s so sad is the unwillingness of mainstream Democrats to provide some pushback to the loony left in charge of the city of Seattle these days. Are there any adults left in the Democrat Party who are not afraid of the socialists… and SEIU?
